Primary

Primary tutoring, starting from how your child learns

One-to-one tutoring for primary school children in maths and English, in your home across Kensington and Chelsea or online.

Yes, we work with young children. Primary tutoring is its own kind of work: shorter sessions, a gentler pace, and a tutor who pays as much attention to how your child approaches a task as to whether they get it right.

We teach in person across Kensington, Chelsea and nearby London, and online across the UK and worldwide.

What primary tutoring is for

  • A confident start in maths and English
  • Spotting the gaps a parent would not otherwise see
  • Broader topics that build curiosity

At primary school, a small gap is easy to miss. A child can get by in class while something basic has not quite landed, and it often only shows once later work is built on top of it. One-to-one time is where those gaps come to light, while they are still small.

What we teach

Maths

Number, calculation and problem solving, taught so that each step is secure before the next one is built on it.

English

Reading, comprehension, spelling and writing, at your child’s pace.

Broader topics

Chosen around what your child is curious about, so learning is something they want to come back to.

Where we start

The Early Learning Profile

For primary school children, we begin with the Early Learning Profile. You complete it, not your child: a short questionnaire about what you notice day to day, such as what holds their attention and what they do when something is hard. There is no test for your child to sit.

The Profile is descriptive, never diagnostic. We choose your child’s tutor against it, your tutor reads it before the first lesson, and after every lesson they write a report you can read in your Parent Dashboard.
