Safeguarding and DBS checks
How we vet tutors, how lessons run, and what to do if something worries you.
Our commitment
We teach children one to one, often in their own homes. That is a position of trust, and we treat it as one. Every tutor is vetted before they meet a student, every lesson follows the same standards of conduct, and every concern raised with us is taken seriously, whoever raises it.
How we check every tutor
Before teaching a first lesson with us, every tutor completes:
- a DBS check
- identity checks
- reference checks
No tutor is matched with a family until all checks are complete.
Safe practice in person and online
In-person lessons take place in your home with a parent or guardian present in the house; for younger children we ask that an adult stays within sight or hearing of the lesson. Online lessons follow the same standards: tutors communicate through scheduled lessons and agreed channels only, never through private messages or social media. Parents are welcome to sit in on any lesson, at home or online.
Our designated safeguarding lead
Safeguarding concerns are handled by our designated safeguarding lead, who reviews every concern and decides what happens next, including referral to children’s services or the police where needed.

If anything about a lesson or a tutor worries you, tell us straight away. Call or WhatsApp +44 7931 793164, or email kaif@infinitetutors.org. You will not be asked to speak to the tutor concerned, and you can raise a concern about anyone, including us. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 999.
