Lessons at your own kitchen table

Your child’s tutor comes to you. Most families book the hour after school, while the day’s work is still fresh; others prefer early evening, once supper is on. Your tutor arrives having read the report from the previous lesson, teaches at the same table each week, and writes a new report you can read in the Parent Dashboard the same evening.

The tutor stays the same, week after week. Children settle faster when the person, the time and the routine are predictable, and predictability matters most for the anxious and the easily distracted. Because Highgate is a longer journey from our Gloucester Road base than the rest of our patch, we schedule these lessons in fixed weekly slots so travel time never eats into the hour — and many Highgate families run the same lessons online instead, for exactly this reason.

Which areas do you cover?

We teach in homes in Highgate and the immediate surrounding area — Crouch End, Muswell Hill: postcodes N6, N19 and N10. Our base is on Gloucester Road, SW7, so in-home lessons here are scheduled as fixed weekly slots rather than ad hoc bookings. If home tutoring doesn’t suit your week, the same tutors teach online with no change to the method.

Entrance exams for North London schools

Families here are typically preparing for North London’s independent day schools, for pre-tests sat in Year 6, or for grammar schools within travelling distance: 7+, 8+, 11+ and interviews that reward a calm, articulate child over a heavily drilled one. We prepare children for these as exams: timed papers, error patterns identified and fixed week by week, and the steadiness to perform on the day.

Beyond entrance exams

Many of the students we teach in Highgate are already at senior school: GCSE and A-level students who need structure, a systematic way to close gaps, or confidence rebuilt after a bad mock. We also support neurodivergent students (ADHD, autism, dyslexia, exam anxiety) with gentler pacing and a predictable session shape; every tutor is trained in the Infinite Teaching System by psychotherapist Hannah Kosky (MA, MBACP).

When home does not suit

A house full of siblings, a teenager who works better behind their own door, or simply a shorter, more flexible way to fit lessons around a longer commute: sessions move online with the same tutor and the same materials, and the report still arrives that evening. Many Highgate families run everything online from the start.
